Tonight my gourmet mother cooked up some Dots for dinner. I really don't love dots (but they are candy & we all know I can't pass on candy), but my mom insisted I try one after she warmed it in the microwave. Yes, you're reading this right--microwaved Dots. She put them in the microwave to soften them, but of course then we had hot Dots...gross. I didn't like them any better after she cooked them. But she liked the liquid centers after microwaving them for too long. Now we know how to make Gushers. :)

I think I could handle that kind of gourmet cooking:) I will have to give it a try.
You are dang funny, Rachel! I'm definitely going to have to read more often. Good luck on Friday!
What made Mom think of putting Dots in the microwave? I'm not trying it . . YUCK!
The Dots were hard. I was trying to get them soft. Don't knock a good thing until you try it. By the way 6 seconds is perfect for one dot. AND I WASN'T SERVING THEM FOR DINNER!!!
It ain't mama's cookin' until it's been nuked in the microwave or frosted in the freezer! Now you know where Nils gets his weird eating habits from. Example: popcorn with a spoon???
Speaking of our family's weird eating habits, how about....microwaved ice cream, ketchup & potato chips, or pancakeds w/ peanut butter & honey. I'm thinking "Hot Dots" are sounding normal, but not necessarily nutritious for the pregnant lady!
Hey! this sounds pretty good to me and quite inventive I'd say! Keep it up DeDe, your little grandkids will think it is really cool! Maybe you should take out a patent on your recipe!
Love ya!
Just thought I would add to my last comment....Remember! the flat bottom icecream cones I would stuff with marshmellows and chocolate chips, put in the microwave so you could watch them swell up? You would get impatient as you had to wait for them to cool....you all thought they were delicious and fun! Then there was the pancakes that looked like Mickey Mouse and other things....used chocolate chips for the eyes...the kids all love these things! And don't forget the "chicken in the nest" for breakfast!
Well I guess it wouldn't be having a treat at Deann's house if you didn't have to wait for your candy bar and twinkies to unthaw or wait for your Dots to cool off.
